Elmer Owen Morris, 63, of Free Union, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at his home. He was born on March 25, 1954, in Charlottesville, Va., son of the late Folton and Gladys Morris. Elmer is survived by his wife, Linda Collier; two sons, Donald E. Morris of Free Union and Paul E. Morris and his girlfriend, Katie, of Cornelius, N.C.; two daughters, Elaine Shifflett and her significant other, Brian Trinks, of Free Union and Ashley Morris and her fiancé, Eric Baker, of Madison; special niece, Sharonda Foley of Nelson County; and five grandchildren, Ethan Shifflett, Wade Shifflett, Emma Trinks, Dixie "Little Bear" Shifflett and Gavin Baker. Elmer was a truck driver for many years. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Prize Hill Cemetery with Pastor John Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at Ryan Funeral Home, 12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.
