Junior Lee Morris, 77, went to heaven to be with the Lord on August 30, 2016.
He was born on February 2, 1939 in Free Union to the late George Mitchell and Betty Frye Morris. He was preceded in death by siblings John Ward, Cornelia Frazier, Mary Rogers, Beatrice Wood, Louise McCauley, and William Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Doris, of 56 years, September 4, 1960; two daughters, Diane and husband Leon; Janet and “her man” Cleveland; one son, Kevin and his wife Corrie; grandchildren Chevonne and her fiancé Shaman; Patrick Herndon and his wife Renee; Tyler, Emma, Walker, and Calla Morris; great-grandchildren Peyton and Jacob Herndon. He is also survived by brother Albert Morris and wife Juanita; sisters Helen Morris and husband Harmon; Margaret Kidd; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, and a special friend David Herndon.
Junior was a logger for over 60 years and owned Morris Timber Production. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a true Christian who read his Bible daily; he was kind and compassionate to all,
He loved people, storytelling, auction sales, listening to his friends sing and play music, and the great outdoors. His favorite past time would be spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids building playhouses, tree houses, telling stories/jokes, picking wildflowers and having tea parties. To them he was funny, strong, brave and had the biggest heart.
He was often called “the best man you’ll ever meet.” He impacted so many lives, some he knew and others he got to know. God has gained a special angel.
Special thanks to the outpouring of support from family, friends, and neighbors.
